Privacy & how this site works

Short, because there is little to tell

This is a static directory. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and keeps no accounts. Here is the whole of it, in plain words, last updated September 2026.

What this site is

Private Chef Sydney is an independent, hand-kept list of Sydney chefs for dinners at home. It is published under that name and edited by hand. It is not a booking agent, an employer of the chefs, or a party to the dinner you arrange.

What it collects: nothing on its own

There are no forms on these pages, no sign-in, no tracking pixels and no analytics script of any kind. Reading the site leaves nothing behind on your device beyond what your browser does on its own with any page.

If you email the directory

Writing to [email protected] puts your message in an ordinary mailbox. It is read to reply to you and kept only as long as the conversation is live; it is not added to any list, shared or sold. Ask and the thread is deleted.

When you press Enquire on a chef’s page

That cue opens a new tab into the chef’s own booking diary, which is run by a separate service with its own privacy terms shown on its pages. Whatever you enter there — date, headcount, your details — goes to that service and to the chef, never back through this site. This site cannot see it.

Outside services this page does load

Two, both to draw the page: the typefaces come from Google Fonts and the photographs from the Unsplash image CDN. Each receives the usual request data from your browser (your IP address, the page asked for) in order to send the file back, under its own policy. Nothing else is fetched from anywhere.

The dinner itself

The per-head figures on the site are what the chefs have quoted recently and are a guide to budgeting, not an offer. Menu, date, price and any deposit are agreed directly between you and the chef; the directory has no hand in that arrangement and no view of it. Guest notes are quoted as written by past guests and are not edited for tone.

Changes and questions

If any of the above changes — a form is added, say — this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Questions go to the same address, read weekdays, 9am to 6pm Sydney time.
